Not all Ensemble dances will be in each show. Dancers will be notified.

2025 Recital Fees
$85 Recital Fee Due April 15
FYI – This fee will be invoiced to your Compudance account and charged to your credit card on file on Tuesday, April 15.
IF you do not have a credit card on file in Compudance, please come to the office to pay. You WILL NOT be able to purchase recital tickets if you still have a balance due on your Compudance account (this includes, tuition payments, shoes or merchandise that has not been paid for yet). Thank you!
A recital fee is required for each dancer participating in the recital
The fee includes:
- Dress Rehearsal & Performance Fee
- Recital T-shirt
- Recital Pin & Certificate
- Souvenir Recital Program
- Livestream of Recital

2025 Costume Information
All costumes will be distributed along with Costume Directions (for hair, tights shoes, etc). If you are in need of any of these items please either email us at [email protected] or come into the studio office.
When costumes are ready for pick up, parents, are asked to come into the studio office to sign out your dancer’s costume(s).
- Your dancer’s name will already be written inside the costume.
- Once the costume is home, remove it from the bag and hang it in a safe place.
- DO NOT IRON COSTUMES!!!
- PICK UP: You will receive an email when your dancer’s costume(s) are ready for pick up. At that time, you will receive a pair of tights to be used for recital and a list of directions on how to wear the costume, how to style your hair with the hairpiece – if applicable. Please read all directions and let us know if you have any questions.
- SHOES: A form will be sent home with your dancer if they require a new pair of dance shoes for their recital dance.
- HAIR & MAKEUP HELP AT RECITAL! There will be a fundraising group doing hair and makeup in the dressing room at recital. More info to come!

- Dad’s must be able to make one of the 1st two rehearsals to participate.
- THERE IS A $30 PARTICIPATION FEE PER DAD.
- THIS IS FOR DAD’S OR GRANDFATHER’S (DANCERS DO NOT DANCE WITH THEM).
- Please wear SOCKS to Rehearsal.

DRESS REHEARSALS
at Oliver Ames High School Auditorium

Both Tuesday and Wednesday Night Rehearsals are FULL-DRESS REHEARSALS and will run exactly as the recital order – except for possibly preschool
Our full recital order will be sent out by the end of May
If you are unsure which show your dancer is in, please check with us in the office
We will not wait for dancers who arrive late
Please be on time and be ready to dance to keep things moving
Dress Rehearsal attendance is mandatory unless it has been cleared with us ahead of time.
It helps the dancers feel more comfortable with the staging, costume changes, having an audience etc.
Dressing Room Volunteers should plan on helping for Dress Rehearsal as well, so dancers are familiar with you, and you are familiar with their costume changes

GUIDELINES for ALL DANCERS
Dress Rehearsal & Recital Days
ARRIVAL:
Dancers should arrive 30 minutes before the start time of each show
Bring ALL costumes, accessories, and ALL dance shoes
MAKE SURE NAMES ARE ON ALL SHOES, ACCESSORIES, SUITCASES, BASKETS etc. Costumes should already have their names inside of them
THEY SHOULD ARRIVE FULLY DRESSED IN THEIR FIRST COSTUME
Parents – bring your dancer(s) to the Drop Off /Pick Up Area
PARENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO WALK THEIR DANCERS BACK TO THE DRESSING ROOM (Unless cleared with us)
Our Volunteers will bring your dancer to their assigned Dressing Room table
The dancer will get checked off from their class helper at their table
Mini-Movers, arrive already in their ballet shoes
Preschoolers, arrive with dance shoes in Ziploc bag with their name written (do not bring dance bag)
Dancers with multiple costume changes:
Bring a rolling suitcase or a laundry basket with all items
Keep items contained in the dressing room and in between changes
MALES will have a separate Dressing Room Area behind the stage (look for signage). (Mini-Movers & Preschooler males can stay in dressing room or with their parents)
DURING:
NO underwear should be worn under costumes
Let us know if your dancer is in need of a camisole undergarment for changing
Hair and Make-up for Dress Rehearsal and Recital – will be the same
HAIR (BUNS FOR MOST) & MAKE-UP must be worn the same at DRESS REHEARAL and RECITAL
Bring bobby pins and safety pins to secure costumes and hair nets for their buns
Neutral eye shadow, blush and bright lipstick (no frosted Lipstick) – Eyeliner, mascara and foundation are recommended for older dancers
NO COLORED NAIL POLISH SHOULD BE WORN (fingers or toes)
No jewelry should be worn, which includes ALL earrings, chains and rings – Leave all valuables at home
PLEASE NOTE: Only designated Dressing Room Volunteers should be in the dressing rooms
Volunteers will have a nametag and bracelet (for auditorium entry) to identify them as a helper
Costume changes will be the responsibility of the backstage volunteers
Parents will NOT go back to change their dancer
Please have dancers practice their costume changes at home so it will make for a smooth change at the show
ENDING:
Dress Rehearsal ONLY: Once dancers are finished with all their dances:
They will be allowed into the auditorium to watch
Dressing Room Volunteers will walk dancers to the Drop Off/Pick Up area to meet parents
Please do not to bring siblings or young children to Dress Rehearsal if they are not in the performance
Recital ONLY:
All students are to remain in their assigned area in the Dressing Room with their group and volunteers until the finale – they are not allowed to leave the Dressing Room and roam around.
DANCERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM DURING RECITAL* (*Other than Mini-Movers & Preschoolers after their finale dance and can be seated in the lap of a parent)
Preschool dancers after their ballet dance – may leave or be seated in the lap of a parent
Parents, please go to the Drop Off/Pick Up area to meet your dancer
If you would like your pre-school dancer to participate in the finale at the end of the show, please bring them back to the drop off table within 5 numbers before the end of the show.
Please wear your Recital T-shirts for the Finale!
PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING
NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEO TAPING WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE RECITAL
IT IS ALLOWED ONLY AT DRESS REHEARSAL
AT DRESS REHEARSAL:
ALL PICTURES AND RECORDINGS CAN BE DONE AT REHEARSAL in the auditorium
Dancers and parents will be allowed in the audience to record or photograph dancers on stage; they will not be allowed to stand at the front of the stage
INCLUDES TAKING PICTURES AND VIDEO
AT RECITAL:
NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR RECORDING WILL BE ALLOWED DURING THE RECITAL ON SUNDAY in the auditorium
Please inform all family and friends attending – NOT TO USE THEIR PHONES OR CAMERAS DURING THE RECITAL
The Recital will be photographed and videotaped by a professional (as part of the Recital Fee you paid in April)
ALL will receive a digital download of photos and recordings
Each recital show will be livestreamed as long as the internet is working properly
ALL will receive a streaming link – it will be posted online to our Facebook page
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD, DRINKS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM
SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED ON SCHOOL GROUNDS
Recital T-Shirt

Every dancer will receive a Recital T-Shirt with the logo, date and the cast list of everyone!
T-Shirts will be distributed with the recital bag with commemorative pin and certificate! These will be handed out in class the week before recital.
